Graduate Maths Teacher Training Programme (Salaried Route)
Location: Poole, Dorset
School Type: Mainstream Secondary School
Contract: Full-Time, Monday to Friday
Start Date: September 2026
Route: School-Based Salaried Training Programme (Qualified Teacher Status Award)

KPI Education is working in collaboration with a well-regarded secondary school in Poole to recruit a dedicated and academically strong Mathematics graduate for their September 2026 teacher training intake.

This programme is ideal for graduates who are eager to begin a career in teaching and want to gain practical classroom experience while working towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) through a structured, paid training route within a supportive school environment.

From day one, you will be immersed in school life, learning directly from experienced teachers and gradually developing the skills required to become a confident and effective classroom practitioner.

The Role

As a Graduate Maths Teacher Trainee, you will be based within a successful and supportive Maths department. Your development will be carefully structured, with responsibilities increasing as your training progresses:

  • Supporting the delivery of Mathematics lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Providing targeted support to individual pupils and small intervention groups.
  • Assisting in lesson planning, classroom preparation, and resource development.
  • Observing experienced teachers and learning effective teaching strategies.
  • Participating in weekly training sessions focused on teaching practice and behaviour management.
  • Gradually leading your own lessons under the supervision of a qualified mentor.

This is a progressive training pathway designed to build your confidence and capability in a real classroom setting, preparing you fully for QTS.

What You Will Receive

  • A salaried teacher training position with no tuition fees.
  • Full support to achieve Qualified Teacher Status within one year.
  • Opportunity to gain a PGCE alongside QTS at no additional cost.
  • Continuous mentoring from experienced Maths educators and senior staff.
  • A structured, school-based training experience rather than a university-led course.
  • A gradual increase in teaching responsibility to support professional growth.
  • Excellent long-term career development opportunities within education.

Candidate Profile

  • A minimum 2:1 degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject.
  • GCSE Mathematics and English at grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
  • A strong interest in working with young people and pursuing a teaching career.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
  • A resilient, professional, and proactive attitude towards learning.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

Previous experience in schools or working with young people is helpful but not essential, as full training and ongoing support will be provided throughout the programme.

Application Process

If you are a Maths graduate ready to take the first step into teaching, please submit your CV to KPI Education. Applications are being reviewed on a rolling basis, and interviews will be conducted both online and in person.

Begin your teaching career in a supportive Poole secondary school that is committed to developing the next generation of outstanding educators.
