At KPI Education, we are working with a number of well-regarded secondary schools across Northampton who are seeking to appoint Graduate Maths Unqualified Teachers. This opportunity is ideal for ambitious graduates who are looking to build their teaching skills and gain meaningful experience ahead of a PGCE, Schools Direct, or salaried training route.

The Role

As a Graduate Maths Unqualified Teacher, you will join a supportive Mathematics department and work closely with experienced teachers to deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential exposure to Key Stage 5.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering Mathematics lessons using structured schemes of work and pre-planned resources.
  • Explaining key mathematical concepts clearly and supporting students’ understanding.
  • Running small group and one-to-one interventions to improve attainment.
  • Assisting with marking, feedback, and lesson preparation.
  • Supporting students in developing confidence, problem-solving skills, and independent learning habits.
  • Building strong behaviour management techniques with guidance from experienced staff.
  • Collaborating with colleagues within the Maths department and wider school team.

This role offers a structured and supportive introduction to teaching, allowing you to develop essential classroom skills in a real school environment.

Candidate Profile

KPI Education is keen to hear from graduates who:

  • Hold a degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject (2:1 or above preferred).
  • Have strong subject knowledge and a passion for Mathematics education.
  • Are considering a future in teaching and keen to gain practical experience.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and a professional attitude.
  • Can build positive relationships with secondary-aged students.
  • Show resilience, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn.
  • Have prior experience working with young people (desirable but not essential).
