What's the role?

When teaching Nutrition, you will:

  • Deliver engaging lessons focused on nutrition, healthy eating, food preparation and food science
  • Support students in developing practical and theoretical knowledge
  • Work closely with experienced mentors and teaching professionals
  • Complete a recognised teacher training programme leading to QTS

What does the training look like?

The programme is structured to help you grow in confidence and ability:

  • 4 days in school - gaining hands-on experience
  • 1 day per week- PGCE study and professional development
  • Term 1: Observe experienced teachers and support lessons to learn the fundamentals
  • Term 2: Begin planning and delivering your own lessons
  • Term 3: Take on more responsibility and refine your teaching style

You'll be supported throughout the process with a dedicated mentor, ongoing feedback and a structured training programme.

Who are we looking for?

  • Graduates with a Nutrition, Food Sciences or related degree(2:1 or above preferred)
  • Strong A-Levels
  • Interest in working with young peopleand pursue a career in education
  • Confident communicators

No prior classroom experience is required - just commitment and enthusiasm.
