What's the role?
When teaching Nutrition, you will:
- Deliver engaging lessons focused on nutrition, healthy eating, food preparation and food science
- Support students in developing practical and theoretical knowledge
- Work closely with experienced mentors and teaching professionals
- Complete a recognised teacher training programme leading to QTS
What does the training look like?
The programme is structured to help you grow in confidence and ability:
- 4 days in school - gaining hands-on experience
- 1 day per week- PGCE study and professional development
- Term 1: Observe experienced teachers and support lessons to learn the fundamentals
- Term 2: Begin planning and delivering your own lessons
- Term 3: Take on more responsibility and refine your teaching style
You'll be supported throughout the process with a dedicated mentor, ongoing feedback and a structured training programme.
Who are we looking for?
- Graduates with a Nutrition, Food Sciences or related degree(2:1 or above preferred)
- Strong A-Levels
- Interest in working with young peopleand pursue a career in education
- Confident communicators
No prior classroom experience is required - just commitment and enthusiasm.
