A well-regarded school in Wembley is seeking a Graduate Payroll Assistant to join their finance and HR support team on a temp to perm basis, with an immediate start available. Part-time hours can be considered, making this a great opportunity for candidates seeking flexibility.

This role is ideal for a graduate looking to begin a career in payroll, finance or HR, particularly within the education sector. Candidates with prior education experience will be highly regarded.

The Role:

As a Graduate Payroll Assistant, you will support the day-to-day payroll function, working closely with experienced finance and HR professionals. You will gain hands-on experience in payroll processing, compliance and pensions administration within a school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the preparation and processing of payroll
  • Supporting payroll queries from staff and resolving discrepancies
  • Maintaining accurate payroll and personnel records
  • Assisting with pensions administration (training provided)
  • Supporting compliance with payroll deadlines and legislation
  • Liaising with HR and finance teams to ensure accurate data

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A recent graduate (Finance, Accounting, Business, Mathematics or related degrees are desirable but not essential)
  • Previous experience working in a school or education setting is highly desirable
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Organised, reliable and able to handle confidential information
  • Keen to develop a long-term career in payroll, finance or HR
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
