The Role

As a Graduate Physics Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role within the Science department, supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential exposure to Key Stage 5. You will assist in raising attainment, building student confidence, and contributing to a dynamic learning environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group academic support in Physics.
  • Assisting teachers with lesson delivery, planning, and preparation.
  • Delivering targeted intervention sessions for students who require additional support.
  • Stretching and challenging high-achieving students.

You should:

  • Hold a 2:1 or above degree in Physics or a closely related discipline.
  • Have excellent academic credentials, including strong GCSE and A-Level results in Physics or Mathematics.
  • Demonstrate a clear interest in teacher training or a long-term career in education.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with confidence when working with young people.

Previous experience working with young people is advantageous but not essential. A genuine passion for education and the desire to make a real impact in the classroom are far more important.
