Job Summary

Are you passionate about supporting young children and eager to make a difference in their early education, whilst developing your professional skills and exploring a career in teaching?

This warm and welcoming Primary School in Lambeth, celebrated for its inclusive ethos and commitment to nurturing both academic and emotional growth, is looking for a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.

As a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced teachers to support pupils across EYFS, KS1, and KS2, helping them thrive in a safe, stimulating, and joyful learning environment.


Key Responsibilities

As a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across the primary curriculum
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support, especially in literacy and numeracy
  • Help pupils stay focused, motivated, and on track with their learning
  • Contribute to a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
  • Assist with behaviour management and lesson preparation
  • Take part in school life, including assemblies, playground duties, and enrichment activities
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff alike

Who We’re Looking For

To succeed as a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant, you should have:

  • A 2:1 or higher degree from a top university (any subject)
  • A genuine interest in working with primary-aged children (4–11 years)
  • Patience, empathy, and a flexible, can-do attitude
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A long-term interest in education, child psychology, or teaching
  • Some experience working with children (desirable but not essential)
