Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate for this Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant role will have:
- A 2:1 or higher degree from a top university (any subject)
- A genuine interest in working with primary-aged children (4–11 years)
- Patience, empathy, and a flexible, can-do attitude
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A long-term interest in education, child psychology, or teaching
- Some experience working with children (desirable but not essential)
The Role
As a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant, you'll be a key part of classroom environment, providing crucial support for both students and teachers. Your responsibilities will include:
- Inspiring a love of learning by assisting teachers in the delivery of dynamic and creative lessons.
- Providing targeted support to pupils, both one-to-one and in small groups, to help them build confidence and overcome challenges.
- Helping to create a nurturing and inclusive classroom, where every child feels valued and is encouraged to thrive.
- Supporting pupil well-being by being a positive role model and assisting with behaviour management.
- Contributing to the day-to-day life of the school, including lunchtime and break-time duties, and helping with extracurricular activities.
- Developing strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to support a collaborative and supportive school community.
