KPi Education are currently partnering with a number of welcoming and high-achieving primary schools across St Helens and Warrington to recruit Graduate Primary Teaching Assistants for long-term positions starting in September 2026.

These opportunities are perfect for graduates who want to immerse themselves in school life, develop their classroom skills, and gain invaluable experience supporting pupils across the primary age range.

Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant – The Role

Working alongside experienced teachers and support staff, you will play an active role in helping pupils achieve both academically and personally.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Providing individual and small-group academic support
  • Delivering focused interventions in reading, writing, phonics, and mathematics
  • Encouraging pupil engagement, participation, and confidence in lessons
  • Assisting teachers in creating positive and inclusive learning environments
  • Supporting classroom activities, educational visits, and enrichment opportunities
  • Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential
  • Offering additional support to children with varying learning needs when required

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain first-hand experience of life in a primary school while making a genuine contribution to children's development and achievement.

Who We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in graduates who have achieved a 2:1 degree or above in:

  • Core Subjects (Maths, English or Science)
  • Psychology
  • Educational Studies
  • Early Years Education
  • Other related academic disciplines

Successful candidates will possess:

  • A genuine enthusiasm for working with children
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A caring, patient, and positive approach
  • The ability to act as a positive role model
  • Ambitions to build a career within education

Previous experience working with young people, whether through tutoring, coaching, mentoring, volunteering, or employment, is advantageous but not essential.
