A friendly and inclusive primary school in Birmingham is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Graduate Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a high-achieving graduate who is considering a future career in education and wants to gain hands-on experience within a primary school setting.
Working alongside experienced teachers and support staff, you will play a key role in helping pupils achieve their full potential, both academically and socially. The role offers invaluable classroom experience and would be ideal for someone considering teacher training in the future.
The Role:
- Support teaching and learning across EYFS, Key Stage 1, or Key Stage 2.
- Deliver targeted interventions to individuals and small groups.
- Assist pupils who require additional academic or pastoral support.
- Help create an engaging, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Support classroom management and behaviour expectations.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents to promote pupil progress.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school community.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A minimum 2:1 degree in Primary Education, Childhood Studies, Education Studies, Psychology, English, Mathematics, or a related subject.
- A genuine interest in education and supporting young people.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- A proactive, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach.
- Previous experience working with children through tutoring, mentoring, coaching, volunteering, childcare, or school-based placements is desirable.
- An ambition to progress into teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, or another education-related profession.
