The Role

As a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant, you'll provide classroom support across EYFS, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, helping teachers deliver engaging lessons while providing targeted support for pupils who need additional guidance.

This varied role offers excellent experience for graduates looking to understand the day-to-day life of a primary school while making a genuine difference to children's education.

Your Responsibilities

As a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Deliver one-to-one and small group intervention sessions to raise pupil attainment.
  • Support classroom learning across a range of curriculum subjects.
  • Assist teachers in preparing engaging lessons and learning resources.
  • Encourage pupils to participate confidently in classroom activities.
  • Provide additional support for children with SEND where appropriate.
  • Monitor pupil progress and share observations with teaching staff.
  • Help maintain a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Act as a positive role model, promoting excellent behaviour and a love of learning.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum 2:1 bachelor’s degree in Core subjects or related fields.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and supporting education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, enthusiastic and adaptable approach.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Previous experience tutoring, mentoring, volunteering or working with children is desirable but not essential.
