Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant

We are currently recruiting for a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Leeds, L12.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to gain valuable classroom experience and develop a career within education, teaching, childcare or social care.

The Role

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support teachers with the delivery of engaging lessons and classroom activities.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils.
• Help pupils with their learning, development and confidence.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Support classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Assist pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.
• Help prepare classroom resources and activities.
• Work closely with teaching staff to ensure pupils receive appropriate support.
• Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times.

About You

The successful candidate will:

• Have a 2:1 degree or above.
• Have graduated in a related field, such as Education, Childhood Studies, Childcare, Early Years, Social Care, Psychology or a similar subject.
• Have a genuine interest in working with children and young people.
• Be enthusiastic, patient, reliable and proactive.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be confident working as part of a team.
• Have previous experience working with children or young people through employment, volunteering, placements or tutoring — desirable but not essential.
• Be committed to supporting pupils' learning and development.

This role is particularly suited to graduates considering a future career in teaching, education, childcare, social care or a related profession.

DBS clearance and relevant safeguarding checks will be required.
