Graduate Science Teaching Assistant: Key Responsibilities

As a Graduate Science Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Support Science lessons across your subject area at KS3 & KS4 level
  • Provide 1-1 and small group interventions to help students grasp challenging concepts
  • Prepare engaging learning materials and practical resources for experiments
  • Encourage, motivate, and inspire students to achieve their full potential
  • Gain first-hand experience in a classroom setting, developing the skills needed for teacher training or a STEM-based career in education

Graduate Science Teaching Assistant: Candidate Specification

To be successful in this Graduate Science Teaching Assistant role, you will need:

  • A 2:1 or higher degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related Science subject (Russell Group/top-30 University)
  • A strong academic record in your subject area at A-Level and GCSE
  • Excellent communication skills and a passion for working with young people
  • A proactive, patient, and enthusiastic attitude
  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in education, teaching, or a related field
  • Previous experience working with students is desirable but not essential.
