We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Graduate Science Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant, high-achieving secondary school in Birmingham. This is the perfect opportunity for a recent graduate in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or a related field, who is considering a career in education, to get valuable classroom experience.

 

What's the role?

As a Science Teaching Assistant, you will support students across Key Stages 3 and 4, working alongside experienced teachers to deliver engaging and accessible lessons. You'll play a key role in helping students understand scientific concepts, develop confidence, and achieve their academic potential.

You will:

  • Assist in the delivery of science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students
  • Help prepare laboratory equipment and learning materials
  • Support classroom management and student engagement
  • Encourage curiosity and a passion for science

 

What are we looking for?

  • A degree in a science-related subject (2:1or above)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive and positive attitude
  • An interest in education or pursuing a teaching career
  • Previous experience working with young people (desirable but not essential)
