Graduate Science Teaching Assistant

  • Full-time, long-term role starting from September 2026
  • Monday–Friday, 32.5 hours per week during term time
  • Assignment rate of up to £560 per week
  • Leeds-based secondary school with excellent transport links
  • Open to Science graduates with a 2:1 degree or higher
  • Biology, Chemistry, and Physics graduates are particularly encouraged to apply
  • Provide targeted academic support to KS3 and KS4 pupils
  • Work alongside experienced Science teachers to reinforce learning and develop pupil confidence
  • Gain valuable in-school experience ahead of Teacher Training from September 2027
  • Interviews taking place immediately

This Graduate Science Teaching Assistant position is a fantastic opportunity to gain genuine classroom experience while supporting secondary school pupils with their academic development. You’ll work with individuals and small groups, helping students understand challenging concepts, strengthen their subject knowledge, and build confidence in Science.

The school is looking for a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Science graduate with a genuine passion for education. You’ll become part of a supportive Science department, working alongside experienced teachers and benefiting from ongoing mentoring and professional development as you develop your tutoring and classroom skills.

Whether your degree is in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics, this role provides an excellent foundation for a future career in teaching. You’ll strengthen your communication and delivery skills, gain insight into effective classroom practice, and make a positive impact on pupils’ learning — while building valuable experience ahead of Teacher Training.
