Graduate Science Trainee Teacher – Job Specification
- Hold a minimum 2:1 degree in a Science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a closely related field)
- Demonstrate a genuine passion for science education and a strong ambition to become an excellent Science teacher
- Earn up to £31,000 per year while completing your training
- Train at a secondary school known for its dedication to teacher development (Ofsted-rated Outstanding)
- Work towards achieving QTS by July 2026 through an immersive, classroom-based programme
- Collaborate with an experienced and supportive Science department dedicated to improving student outcomes
Graduate Science Trainee Teacher – The Role
Starting in September 2025, this Science teacher training programme offers a structured, school-centred path into the profession. The role begins with a reduced timetable to allow a gradual transition into teaching, supported by a comprehensive training framework and continuous mentorship.
You will start by learning how to plan effective lessons and create engaging resources, guided by a dedicated subject mentor. As your confidence grows, you’ll begin to take on more classroom responsibility, gaining valuable feedback and refining your teaching techniques.
By the end of the academic year, you will have developed the skills and confidence needed to become a fully qualified Science teacher, with QTS awarded by July 2026.
