What's the role?
As a Science Trainee Teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging lessons across Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics, depending on your specialism
- Inspire curiosity through practical investigations and scientific enquiry
- Support students in developing scientific knowledge, practical skills and critical thinking
- Work closely with experienced mentors and teaching professionals
- Complete a recognised teacher training programme leading to QTS
What does the training look like?
The programme is structured to help you grow in confidence and ability:
- 4 days per weekin school gaining hands-on classroom experience
- 1 day per weekdedicated to PGCE study and professional development
- Term 1:Observe experienced teachers and gradually support lessons
- Term 2:Begin planning and delivering your own lessons
- Term 3:Take increased responsibility and refine your teaching practice
You'll receive continuous support from a dedicated mentor, regular feedback and a structured training programme throughout the year.
Who are we looking for?
- Graduates with a Science-related degree(Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Natural Sciences or a related subject) - 2:1 or above
- Strong A-Levelsin Maths or Science
- A genuine interest in working with young people and pursuing a career in education
- Confident communicators with excellent subject knowledge
No previous classroom experience is required - just enthusiasm, commitment and a passion for science.
