Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant role:

As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll be supporting students with various needs; reengaging them with the content of the lesson and breaking down their various barriers to learning. You’ll assist the classroom leader in delivering engaging educational content and in managing behaviour. In the mornings, you will spend the first hour going through training and getting to grips with the Educational Healthcare Plans which many of the students are on. This Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant role represents an opportunity to gain varied and valuable hands-on experience within the classroom, that will develop your skills and experience for future employers.

This school serves a fairly deprived catchment area, so a compassionate individual with strong emotional intelligence is required. If you want to make a real difference to some of the students who need it most, this Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant role is for you. The successful applicant will be working with students with a range of needs varying from ADHD, ASD, SEMH, Anger Management and more. None of the students are violent or non-verbal so experience working with SEN learners is not essential, if the candidate has good core subject knowledge.
