About This Role
As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum and succeed in their studies. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Working 1:1 or in small groups with students, providing academic and emotional support.
- Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons that cater to the needs of SEN students.
- Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all students.
- Building strong relationships with students, parents, and staff to support the holistic development of each learner.
This role is ideal for graduates who are passionate about education, psychology, or social work and are considering a future career as a teacher, educational psychologist, or SEN specialist. As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll gain invaluable experience in understanding the needs of SEN students and developing strategies to support their learning.
Key Requirements:
- A recent degree from a Russell Group university (preferable but not essential).
- A passion for working with children and supporting their educational journey.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive and compassionate attitude towards helping students with SEN.
- No prior experience is necessary, but any voluntary or paid experience working with children or young adults with special needs is a plus.
