We’re looking for a committed and compassionate Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Birmingham, working within their newly developed ‘pathway space’ in the SEN hub. This is a unique opportunity to gain first-hand experience supporting students with a range of needs in a nurturing, purpose-built environment.

What You’ll Be Doing – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Deliver 1:1 and small group support to students within the SEN provision
  • Assist in the academic, emotional, and behavioural development of pupils
  • Use psychology-informed strategies to help students manage behaviour and build confidence
  • Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and external professionals to deliver tailored support
  • Implement and adapt Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Promote independence, self-esteem, and positive peer relationships
  • Track student progress and provide feedback to staff and parents
  • Help create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment in the pathway space

What We’re Looking For – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • A 2:1 degree or above in Psychology or a related subject
  • Previous experience working with children or individuals with SEN is desirable
  • A genuine interest in supporting children with diverse learning needs
  • Empathy, resilience, and excellent communication skills
  • A proactive, flexible, and positive approach to learning support
  • A strong foundation in psychological principles and behaviour strategies
  • Ambition to pursue a career in SEN education, child psychology, or therapeutic work
