Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant: Your Role

As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students in both classroom and residential environments, promoting intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development
  • Assist with personal care routines, including washing, toileting, bathing, and mealtime support
  • Help deliver individual learning plans and therapeutic activities that build confidence and independence
  • Work alongside teachers and therapists to implement strategies from students’ Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Support with sensory activities, adapted lessons, and therapeutic play

Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant:

We are seeking a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant who:

  • Holds a 2:1 or higher degree in Psychology, Education, Child Development, or SEN Studies
  • Has a solid understanding of SEN and SEMH needs, ideally with experience supporting students on EHCPs
  • Brings experience from an SEN setting (school, care, or therapeutic environment) – desirable but not essential
  • Can work confidently as part of a multi-disciplinary team
