A welcoming primary school in Ware with a dedicated SEN department is seeking a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates who are passionate about supporting children and considering careers in teaching, educational psychology, child therapy, or SEN support.

The Role – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Work with pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 with needs such as autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH (social, emotional and mental health).
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support, helping children access the curriculum and develop social and learning skills.
  • Support class teachers in adapting lessons and creating an inclusive, nurturing learning environment.
  • Encourage children to build confidence, independence, and resilience both in the classroom and in their personal development.

About You  - Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

  • A 2:1 degree or higher – Psychology, Education, or related subjects particularly relevant
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Adaptable, resilient, and patient in different situations
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Previous experience with children or SEN (schools, youth work, care, volunteering) is beneficial but not essential
  • Must have the right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
