At KPI Education, we are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Central Birmingham to recruit a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant.
Ideally located with excellent transport links, this full-time, long-term opportunity is perfect for graduates seeking to build on their existing SEN experience and pursue a career in educational psychology, SEN teaching, or child-focused support roles.
About You :
KPI Education is looking for graduates who:
- Have achieved (or are predicted) a 2:1 or above in Psychology or a related discipline.
- Have previous experience supporting children with SEN (essential).
- Demonstrate a strong passion for working with children with additional needs.
- Are patient, empathetic, and resilient.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The Role
As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with additional needs within a nurturing and structured classroom environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting children with needs such as autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
- Delivering targeted one-to-one and small group interventions.
- Working closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and external professionals.
- Supporting the implementation of EHCPs and personalised learning strategies.
- Encouraging pupils’ confidence, independence, and engagement.
- Promoting a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
This role offers hands-on experience in a thriving primary school setting, making it an excellent next step for graduates with prior SEN exposure.
