An inclusive and forward-thinking SEN primary school on the Wirral, just a short distance from Wallasey, is looking for a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team. This long-term opportunity begins in September 2026 and is initially available for the full academic year.
Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant
- Full-time, long-term Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant role, Monday-Friday
- Earn up to £540 per week

Ideal Candidate – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant:
- A 2:1 degree or above, with Psychology, Education, or core subject degrees particularly welcomed
- A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach to supporting pupils with SEN
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- Previous experience in SEN, tutoring, youth work, mentoring, or similar settings is beneficial but not essential
- Must have the right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
The Role – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant:
As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll support pupils aged 4–11 with a variety of additional needs, including learning difficulties, autism, ADHD, and social and emotional challenges.
You’ll provide focused 1:1 support, assist with small-group interventions, and work alongside teachers to adapt activities, lessons, and resources so that every pupil has the opportunity to access learning and succeed.
This role is a fantastic opportunity for graduates who want to develop meaningful, long-term experience within SEN education before progressing into teacher training or specialist support. You’ll gain paid, school-based experience while playing an important part in helping pupils build confidence, develop independence, and achieve their academic and personal goals.
