Your Degree Could Change a Child's World
Graduated with a 2:1 or above? Looking for experience that sets you apart from other graduates?
We are recruiting ambitious graduates to join a specialist SEN school in South Sheffield, supporting pupils whose needs require a more personalised approach to learning.
This is not your typical classroom role. You'll work with children and young people who may communicate, learn and experience the world differently. Your role will be to understand their individual needs, recognise their progress and help them achieve milestones that can have a lasting impact on their lives.
If you've studied Psychology, Sociology, Education or a related degree and are considering a future in educational psychology, clinical psychology, teaching or therapeutic support, this is an opportunity to put your academic knowledge into practice.
What Will Your Day Look Like?
-
Work closely with individual pupils to understand their learning styles and support needs.
-
Help pupils develop communication, social interaction and emotional regulation skills.
-
Use patience and creative approaches to encourage engagement and independence.
-
Support children who may struggle with change, routines or unfamiliar situations.
-
Work alongside specialist teachers to adapt activities to individual abilities.
-
Recognise and celebrate progress, from small steps towards independence to significant developmental milestones.
Who Should Apply?
-
A minimum 2:1 degree classification is essential.
-
A degree in Psychology, Sociology, Education, Childhood Studies or a related subject.
-
An interest in child development, behaviour, additional needs or inclusive education.
-
Resilience, emotional intelligence and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
-
A willingness to learn and adapt your approach to each pupil.
-
Previous SEN experience is beneficial but not essential.
Why This Role?
-
£100–£120 per day in a full-time, school-based role.
-
Direct experience in specialist SEN provision.
-
The chance to develop practical skills that complement your degree.
-
Valuable experience for future postgraduate applications and careers working with children and young people.
-
A role where your contribution can be measured through real progress, not just classroom results.
Take the First Step
Your degree has taught you how to understand behaviour and development. Now you can gain experience applying that knowledge where it matters.
Interviews are taking place now. Apply today to be considered.
