About the Role

Working across a network of welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary and secondary schools throughout Bradford, you will provide support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) on a flexible day-to-day basis.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain first-hand classroom experience, develop key educational skills, and build a strong foundation for a future career in teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, or SEN support.

No two days are the same, giving you the chance to experience a variety of school environments while making a genuine difference to pupils' educational journeys.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SEND on a 1:1 and small-group basis
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
  • Encourage pupils' academic, social, and emotional development
  • Support students in building confidence, independence, and resilience
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil needs
  • Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
  • Help create a positive and supportive classroom environment

Person Specification

Essential

  • A graduate with a 2:1 degree or above (all subjects considered)
  • Passion for supporting children and young people
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive, patient, and proactive approach
  • Interest in education, SEND, or child development

Desirable

  • Previous experience working with children or young people
  • Tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or volunteering experience
  • Aspirations to pursue a career within education
