Start Date: Immediate or September 2025

We’re working with a forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Birmingham to recruit a Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant. This full-time, long-term role is perfect for a STEM graduate eager to support the next generation of scientists, engineers, and technologists.

Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant – What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting students in KS3 and KS4 Science, Maths, and/or Computing lessons
  • Assisting with practical experiments, technical demonstrations, and problem-solving activities
  • Delivering 1:1 or small group academic interventions to boost progress and confidence
  • Encouraging curiosity, independent learning, and STEM-based enquiry
  • Helping manage classroom behaviour and creating a productive learning environment
  • Contributing to STEM clubs, competitions, and school-wide enrichment events
  • Collaborating with teachers to plan and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons

Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant – What We’re Looking For:

  • A 2:1 degree or higher in a STEM subject (e.g., Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Engineering, Computer Science)
  • A strong interest in education and a passion for STEM learning
  • Any prior experience working with young people or tutoring is a bonus
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • A motivated, patient, and proactive attitude to supporting students
  • Ambitions to pursue a career in teaching, education, or STEM outreach
