A highly regarded secondary school in Manchester is recruiting a Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with students across Key Stages 3 and 4, especially within the Maths and Science departments, supporting academic progress and gaining classroom experience.

About the Role – Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant:

As a Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant, you will support teachers across STEM subjects, with a strong focus on Physics and Maths – although subjects such as Chemistry and Biology are desireable. You'll deliver small group interventions, 1:1 support, and assist in classroom teaching. This experience is ideal for graduates aiming to apply for a PGCE or school-based teacher training in 2026.

As a Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students in Maths, Physics, and broader STEM subjects (Chem/Bio etc)
  • Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions to improve academic confidence
  • Assist teachers in lesson planning, delivery, and resource preparation
  • Help students prepare for GCSEs, focusing on key learning gaps
  • Develop your classroom presence and understanding of effective teaching

About You – Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant:

To be successful in the Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant role, you should have:

  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset
