A welcoming secondary school in Leicester (LE2) is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated support team.
The Role
As a Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support students across KS3 and KS4 with Maths, Science and STEM-related subjects.
- Provide 1:1 and small-group academic support.
- Assist teachers during lessons and help students engage with challenging topics.
- Support students who require additional academic or learning support.
- Help create a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
- Encourage students to develop their confidence, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Work alongside experienced teachers and gain valuable classroom experience.
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for a graduate who:
- Holds a 2:1 or above degree in a STEM subject, such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or Computer Science.
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is passionate about supporting young people.
- Can explain complex concepts clearly and patiently.
- Is enthusiastic, reliable and committed to education.
- Has an interest in pursuing a career in teaching or education.
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
