As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will deploy your subject expertise to reengage students and support their academic development. You will assist the classroom leader in delivering exciting educational content, as well as helping to manage behaviour and attending to the individual needs of young learners with personalised support strategies. You will receive extensive guidance and training in this Graduate Teaching Assistant role – particularly in terms of SEN as many of the students at this school have some form of Additional Needs. These needs can range from anxiety to ADHD/ASD or even English as a Second Language.

Graduates with Maths, Science or English degrees are preferred and Psychology graduates will also be considered for more SEN-forward roles. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team – particularly the inclusion department – to develop strategies personalised to targeted learners in order to break down their barriers to learning. You will then deliver these strategies and interventions, monitoring the progress of targeted learners and reporting back to the inclusion department. As such, this Graduate Teaching Assistant role offers varied and valuable experience ideal for candidates pursuing long-term careers in education or an adjacent field.
