An outstanding and high-performing secondary school in the Royal Borough of Greenwich is seeking exceptional Humanities graduates to join its successful Humanities faculty as Graduate Teaching Assistants from September. Applications are welcomed from graduates in History, Geography, Religious Studies, Politics, Sociology or Philosophy.

The Role

Working alongside experienced Humanities teachers, you will:

  • Support lessons across the Humanities curriculum.
  • Deliver targeted intervention sessions and one-to-one support.
  • Help students develop critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Assist with lesson planning, resources and assessment.
  • Build excellent classroom experience ahead of teacher training.
  • Become fully involved in the wider school community.

Person Specification

To be considered, you must:

  • Hold or be predicted a 2:1 or First-Class degree from a UK university in History, Geography, Religious Studies, Politics, Sociology, Philosophy or a closely related Humanities subject.
  • Aspire to become a secondary teacher.
  • Be available for the full academic year.
  • Live within the Royal Borough of Greenwich or within approximately one hour's commute.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and strong academic ability.
