An outstanding and high-performing secondary school in the London Borough of Lewisham is seeking an exceptional Mathematics graduate to join its Maths department as a Graduate Teaching Assistant from September. This is a full-time position for the entire academic year, with the opportunity to remain beyond this period and progress onto a salaried or school-based teacher training programme.

The Role

Working alongside experienced Maths teachers, you will:

• Support Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Deliver targeted intervention sessions.
• Provide one-to-one support for students requiring additional help.
• Assist with lesson preparation and classroom activities.
• Help students build confidence in mathematical reasoning and problem-solving.
• Gain first-hand experience of outstanding teaching practice.

Throughout the year, you will receive structured mentoring and professional development to prepare you for teacher training.

Person Specification

To be considered, you must:

• Hold or be predicted a 2:1 or First-Class degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject from a UK university.
• Be committed to a career in secondary Maths teaching.
• Be available to work full-time for the full academic year.
• Live within the London Borough of Lewisham or within approximately one hour's commute.
• Have excellent communication skills and strong subject knowledge.
