KPI Education is working in partnership with a highly regarded and inclusive secondary school in Leeds to recruit several Graduate Teaching Assistants to join their team from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates who want to develop their classroom skills, build confidence working with young people, and gain valuable insight into life within a secondary school.
Key Details
- Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm, term-time only
- Earn up to £560 per week
- September 2026 start, running throughout the academic year until July 2027
- Strong potential for the role to continue beyond July 2027 or lead into further career progression
- Based at a well-connected Leeds secondary school with convenient public transport links to the city centre
- Full-time opportunity offering consistent, hands-on experience within a secondary classroom environment
What You'll Do
- Provide targeted in-class support, helping pupils stay engaged, confident, and focused on their learning
- Deliver small-group interventions and provide 1:1 academic and pastoral support where required
- Work across a range of subjects, including English, Maths, Science, Humanities, and other curriculum areas
- Support pupils who may need additional encouragement, guidance, or help overcoming barriers to learning
- Build positive relationships with students and become a trusted member of the wider school team
- Work closely with teachers and support staff to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Gain valuable insight into different teaching approaches, classroom management strategies, and pupil development
- Access clear progression opportunities, including in-house Teacher Training routes from September 2027
What We're Looking For
- A 2:1 degree or higher in a core subject or related discipline
- A genuine enthusiasm for education and a desire to support young people to reach their potential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils
- A patient, proactive, and adaptable approach to supporting students with different learning needs
- Previous experience working with children or young people is advantageous but not essential
- Graduates who are motivated to learn, develop, and potentially progress into teaching are particularly encouraged to apply
