You'll work closely with experienced teachers and support staff, gaining first-hand experience of classroom life and developing the practical skills needed to build a successful career in education.

Your degree subject doesn't matter. We welcome applications from graduates across all academic backgrounds, and candidates with a First, 2:1 or 2:2 degree are all encouraged to apply.

What Will You Be Doing?

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you'll support pupils and teachers throughout the school day, helping to create a positive environment where children can learn and develop.

Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

• Supporting teachers during lessons and classroom activities
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils
• Helping pupils with literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities
• Assisting children who need additional encouragement or guidance
• Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs
• Delivering or assisting with intervention programmes
• Encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils develop independence
• Supporting children who may lack confidence with their learning
• Preparing classroom resources and learning materials
• Helping teachers maintain an organised and engaging classroom
• Building positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Supporting pupils' academic, social and emotional development

You'll gain experience across a variety of situations, giving you a realistic insight into the responsibilities and rewards of working in education.

Previous experience working with children is beneficial but not essential.
