Are you a recent graduate looking to start a rewarding career in education?

KPI Education is partnering with a school in Canterbury, seeking motivated and resilient graduates to work with young people to provide additional academic and pastoral support.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering careers in teaching, educational psychology, youth work, SEND or specialist education. You will have the opportunity to make a genuine difference to young people's lives, helping them overcome barriers to learning, rebuild their confidence and achieve their full potential.

Whether you have recently graduated or are looking to gain valuable experience before pursuing teacher training, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

The Role

As a Graduate Tutor, you will provide personalised additional learning support to pupils who may find mainstream education challenging. You will help create a positive, supportive learning environment where young people feel encouraged to engage, develop their skills and make meaningful progress.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering engaging 1:1 and small-group tuition in core subjects, including English, Maths and Science.
  • Supporting pupils who face barriers to accessing mainstream education.
  • Adapting learning activities to meet individual abilities, interests and educational needs.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils to encourage confidence, independence and motivation.
  • Supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
  • Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement with learning.
  • Monitoring pupil progress and helping learners work towards their academic and personal goals.
  • Creating a safe, inclusive and encouraging learning environment.

Who Are We Looking For?

KPI Education is keen to hear from enthusiastic graduates who are passionate about supporting young people and making a difference through education.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A First or 2:1 degree in a core subject (English, Maths, Science) or Psychology, Education, or a related subject.
  • A genuine interest in education and a desire to support young people's development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, empathetic and adaptable approach to working with pupils.
  • The ability to build positive relationships and motivate young people.
  • A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • An interest in teaching, educational psychology, SEND or youth support.

Previous experience in tutoring, mentoring, schools, youth work or supporting children with additional needs would be beneficial but is not essential for every placement.

What's on Offer?

  • £500-£600 per week, subject to the assignment and applicable terms.
  • Valuable, hands-on experience supporting young people in education.
  • Opportunities to develop teaching, mentoring and behaviour-support skills.
  • Practical experience relevant to future careers in teaching, educational psychology, SEND and specialist education.
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference to pupils' academic progress, confidence and wellbeing.
  • Support from an education recruitment team throughout the recruitment process.
