Graduate Unqualified English Teacher: Candidate Specification

We are searching for a Graduate Unqualified English Teacher who has:

-          A 2:1 or above in English (Literature or Language) from a top 30 university

-          Strong academic record through GCSEs and A-Levels (preferably As and A*s in English)

-          Experience supporting young people in schools – as a TA, tutor, mentor, or similar

-          As a Graduate Unqualified English Teacher, you must have excellent communication skills and confidence in delivering lessons in English Literature or Language

-          A serious interest in pursuing a career in education or teacher training in the near future

 

Graduate Unqualified English Teacher: About the role

-          Planning and delivering English lessons to small groups and full classes, with support from the department

-          Working closely with experienced teachers and mentors to continually refine your practice

-          Adapting your approach to meet the diverse needs of learners, including EAL and SEN students

-          Supporting with marking, assessments and targeted interventions

-          Acting as a role model and champion of English across the school
