KPI Education is working with high-performing secondary schools across Brent seeking ambitious and enthusiastic Graduate Unqualified English Teachers to join their teams from September 2026.

This is an ideal opportunity for graduates looking to gain hands-on classroom experience before progressing onto a PGCE, SCITT, School Direct or another teacher-training route.

The Role

Working within a supportive English department, you will gain valuable experience delivering lessons and supporting students across the secondary curriculum.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to support GCSE classes.
• Planning and delivering engaging English lessons.
• Teaching English Literature, English Language, reading and writing.
• Supporting GCSE revision and examination preparation.
• Setting and marking classwork, homework and assessments.
• Providing clear, constructive feedback to students.
• Supporting students with different abilities and learning needs.
• Maintaining high standards of behaviour, effort and achievement.
• Building positive relationships with students.
• Working alongside experienced English teachers to develop your classroom practice.
• Contributing to departmental resources, intervention and enrichment activities.

About You

We're looking for graduates with the academic ability, confidence and enthusiasm to become excellent teachers.

You will ideally have:

• A degree in English Literature, English Language or a related subject.
• A strong academic record, with a 2:1 or above preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for English.
• A desire to inspire and motivate young people.
• Confidence communicating with and leading students.
• Strong organisation, resilience and adaptability.
• High expectations of yourself and your students.
• A clear ambition to build a long-term career in teaching.

Experience in tutoring, mentoring, teaching, youth work, coaching or volunteering is desirable but not essential.
