This opportunity is ideal for graduates in Art, Economics, Computer Science, English, Geography, Physics, and Chemistry who are keen to gain meaningful, hands-on classroom experience before progressing into formal teacher training.
This role offers a structured and supportive introduction to teaching, making it perfect for graduates who are serious about building a long-term career in education.
The Role
As a Graduate Unqualified Teacher, you will work alongside experienced teachers and subject leaders to develop your classroom practice and subject delivery skills. Your responsibilities will include:
- Teaching pre-planned lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 within your subject area.
- Supporting students’ academic progress and reinforcing subject knowledge.
- Delivering small group interventions and targeted support sessions.
- Building strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Assisting with lesson preparation, marking, and assessment.
- Gaining exposure to curriculum planning and wider school responsibilities.
This role is designed to provide a clear pathway into teacher training, equipping you with the skills and confidence needed to progress into a formal programme the following year.
Candidate Profile
The school is seeking ambitious and academically strong graduates who:
- Are Russell Group graduates, or on track to achieve a 2:1 or above in a relevant subject
- Are due to graduate this year and available to start full-time in September 2026.
- Have a genuine interest in education and a commitment to becoming a teacher.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
- Are professional, proactive, and eager to develop.
Previous experience working with young people is beneficial but not essential.
