The Role
As a Graduate Unqualified Teacher, you will work closely with experienced teachers and senior leaders to support learning across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will gradually take on more teaching responsibility as your confidence and skills develop, supported by ongoing mentoring and training.
You will gain valuable experience in lesson delivery, classroom management, and student progress tracking, while contributing to a positive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects, depending on department needs.
- Support student learning by explaining concepts, modelling tasks, and reinforcing understanding.
- Lead targeted 1:1 and small group interventions to support progress and close learning gaps.
- Assist with lesson planning, resource preparation, marking, and assessment.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Promote positive behaviour in line with school policies and expectations.
- Encourage student engagement, independence, and confidence in learning.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and pastoral teams.
Candidate Requirements
- A minimum 2:1 Bachelor’s degree in core subjects or realted fileds.
- Strong academic background and subject knowledge
- A genuine interest in pursuing a career in teaching or education
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
- A proactive, professional, and resilient approach to working in a school environment
- Experience working with young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, coaching, youth work) is desirable but not essential
