Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm
Are you a recent graduate looking to build a meaningful career supporting young people? A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Wembley is seeking a Graduate Welfare Officer to join their pastoral team on a temp to perm basis, with an ASAP start available.
This role is ideal for graduates with an interest in education, psychology, youth work, social care, mental health, or pastoral support, who are keen to gain hands-on experience in a school setting.
The Role:
As a Graduate Welfare Officer, you will work closely with students, staff and external agencies to support student wellbeing, behaviour and safeguarding. You will play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers to learning and thrive both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing day-to-day welfare and pastoral support to students
- Supporting students with emotional, social and behavioural needs
- Assisting with safeguarding concerns and following school procedures
- Liaising with teaching staff, parents and external professionals
- Supporting attendance, behaviour and wellbeing initiatives
- Maintaining accurate welfare and safeguarding records
The Ideal Candidate:
- A recent graduate (any discipline considered, though Psychology, Criminology, Education, Sociology or related subjects are desirable)
- Passionate about supporting young people and making a difference
- Calm, empathetic and emotionally resilient
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Considering a future career in education, social work, psychology or pastoral care
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
