A supportive secondary school in Coventry is looking for a passionate Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant to join its team. This is an opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience while helping students develop their understanding of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.

The Role

You'll work alongside experienced teaching staff, providing additional support to students who may benefit from extra guidance with their STEM learning.

Your role could involve working 1:1, with small groups or within the wider classroom, depending on the needs of the students.

You will:

• Support students with Science, Mathematics, Technology, Engineering and related subjects
• Help learners understand challenging topics and develop their subject knowledge
• Provide 1:1 and small-group academic support
• Encourage students to develop problem-solving and independent learning skills
• Assist teachers with classroom activities and differentiated learning tasks
• Support practical activities and help students engage positively with STEM
• Build students' confidence, motivation and curiosity
• Provide additional support to students who require further guidance
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other members of the school team
• Share relevant observations and feedback on student progress

Who are we looking for?

We're looking for graduates who can demonstrate:

• A STEM-related degree, such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Computer Science or a related subject
• Ideally a 2:1 degree or above
• Strong subject knowledge and the ability to explain ideas clearly
• A genuine interest in working with young people
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, enthusiasm and a positive attitude
• The ability to encourage and motivate students

You don't need previous classroom experience to apply.
