Are you a qualified Hair & Beauty professional with a passion for education and supporting young people?

We are currently recruiting for a Hair & Beauty Vocational Tutor to join an engaging educational setting in Bury, Greater Manchester (BL9). This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced industry professional who can use their practical knowledge and expertise to inspire learners, build confidence and support students towards recognised qualifications and future employment.

The successful candidate will work with young people who may be disengaged from mainstream education, at risk of dropping out or require additional support to remain engaged with learning. You will play an important role in creating a positive and supportive environment where learners can develop vocational, employability and practical skills.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and practical Hair & Beauty vocational sessions
• Support learners working towards relevant vocational qualifications
• Plan and adapt sessions to meet individual learner needs
• Work with students who may be disengaged or have barriers to education
• Build positive and professional relationships with learners
• Encourage students to develop practical, employability and independent skills
• Monitor learner progress and provide appropriate feedback
• Maintain a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment
• Work alongside other education professionals to support learner development

The ideal candidate will have:

• Level 3 or above qualification in Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy or Hair & Beauty
• Relevant VTCT, City & Guilds or NVQ qualification is desirable
• Strong relevant industry experience within Hair & Beauty
• Previous experience delivering training, tutoring or vocational education
• Experience working with young people, particularly those who are disengaged or at risk of dropping out, is desirable
• A valid Educator Licence – essential
• An additional teaching/training qualification such as PTLLS, AET or equivalent would be desirable
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A patient, encouraging and adaptable approach
• A genuine passion for helping young people progress
