Specialist SEND Service | Full Time | Permanent

Salary: £28,000 - £38,000

Are you passionate about helping children and young people with communication needs access learning and develop greater independence?

Do you have experience supporting pupils with SEND and an interest in communication technology and AAC?

We are recruiting for a specialist SEND service seeking an experienced HLTA to support children and young people with complex communication needs through the effective use of Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC) and assistive technology.

The Role

Working alongside specialist teachers, Speech & Language Therapists and school staff, you will help implement communication systems, support pupils using specialist technology and contribute to improved educational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Support pupils using AAC systems and communication technology
- Work alongside teachers, therapists and families to embed communication strategies
- Assist with training and support for school staff
- Create communication resources and personalised learning materials
- Support the setup and maintenance of communication devices
- Assist with pupil reviews, progress monitoring and transitions between settings
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to service development

The Ideal Candidate

- HLTA status or relevant SEND experience
- Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
- Knowledge of AAC, communication devices or assistive technology
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A collaborative and proactive approach
- Passion for inclusive education and improving outcomes
