A well-established secondary school in St Albans is seeking a dedicated History Graduate Teaching Assistant to support students within their Humanities faculty, spanning KS3 and KS4.

Role Overview - History Graduate Teaching Assistant

In this position, you will: History Graduate Teaching Assistant

  • Provide classroom support in History and other Humanities subjects including Geography and Religious Education
  • Deliver tailored academic interventions both 1:1 and in small groups to support underperforming pupils
  • Assist teachers with preparing lesson materials, managing resources, and supporting marking duties
  • Support learners with additional needs such as SEN or EAL to help them fully access the curriculum
  • Foster positive engagement and promote confidence in humanities subjects

Ideal Candidate Profile - History Graduate Teaching Assistant

We are looking for graduates who:

  • Hold a 2:1 or First-Class degree in History or a related discipline
  • Have a strong interest in education and working with young people
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational abilities
  • Are committed to the full contract term: September 2025 to July 2026
  • Have some prior experience with children or young adults (mentoring, tutoring, volunteering) – advantageous but not mandatory
