An ambitious and inclusive secondary school in Brent is looking to appoint a talented Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant to join its thriving Humanities department this September.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a graduate in History, Geography, Politics, Religious Studies, Philosophy, Sociology or a related Humanities discipline to gain invaluable experience working alongside exceptional teachers in a supportive and forward-thinking school.
You'll play an integral role in helping students develop their analytical thinking, curiosity and confidence whilst building the classroom skills required for a successful career in education. Whether you're planning to complete a PGCE, School Direct programme or are exploring a long-term career within education, this role offers the perfect platform to develop professionally.
Your Role
As a Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support engaging History, Geography and Humanities lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Deliver one-to-one and small group intervention sessions to raise student attainment.
- Mentor students preparing for GCSE examinations.
- Help create stimulating learning resources and classroom activities.
- Encourage discussion, debate and independent thinking.
- Work closely with teachers to monitor student progress and achievement.
- Inspire pupils to develop a genuine passion for Humanities subjects.
