Hygiene Manager

Newcastle Under Lyme 

Hours 1pm to 10pm Monday to Thursday and 11am to 6pm on Friday (with flexibility)

£35,000 - £38,000 per annum 

Due to retirement we are looking to recruit and Hygiene manager to join our well established and reputable client at their food manufacturing site based in Newcastle Under Lyme. 

Responsibilities

  • To effectively manage the Hygiene Teams ensuring that all Hygiene standards (High Risk and Low Risk areas) are maintained and developed to the required high standard. These standards are reviewed regularly and where necessary challenged / changed.
  • To be responsible to for the resource planning, recruitment, management, motivation and training of the Hygiene Team.
  • To ensure that all the cleaning is carried out to the highest quality consistency and food safety standards in line with organisation and customer expectation.
  • To be the main point of contact for external suppliers.
  • To be accountable for the sites compliance from a hygiene perspective to all relevant legislations and customer codes of practice. Participating in the internal and external audit programme as required.
  • Managing and maintaining pest control on site in conjunction with the Technical Team.
  • Managing the Team and ensuring tasks are delegated equally and to the cleaner with the appropriate skill set, providing clear and detailed instructions and guidance.
  • Ensuring all documentation and forms are completed and maintained including Cleaning Instruction Cards.
  • Work to Health and Safety and Food Safety standards and where possible exceed requirements.
  • Ensure that the appropriate team structure is in place for the shift and resourced by the right people. Own the training and development of the team to enable progression and compliance.
  • Ensure good employee relations are developed throughout the shift through fair, consistent and effective application of HR policies and procedures.


About you


• Experience of managing and motivating teams 
• A logical and clear thinking approach, particularly under pressure.
• Able to demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills (verbal, written and presentations)
• Must be adaptable and flexible to working hours and areas
• Experience of working in hygiene in a manufacturing environment (preferred but not essential)
• COSHH

Other relevant information

  • Full driving licence preferred but not essential
  • Ability to work flexibly i.e. days, noons and nights
