Lead Recruiter

12-Month Fixed-Term Contract
Crewe
Up to £40,000 per annum
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Fully Office-Based

Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Recruiter to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity for a recruitment professional who thrives on identifying talent, building strong candidate pipelines, and delivering effective hiring solutions in a fast-paced environment.

This role is ideal for someone who takes a proactive approach to recruitment and enjoys seeking out high-calibre candidates rather than relying solely on applications. You'll play a key role in shaping recruitment strategies, supporting hiring managers, and ensuring an exceptional candidate experience throughout the hiring journey.

The Role

As Lead Recruiter, you will be responsible for managing recruitment activity across a variety of operational and specialist positions. Working closely with stakeholders, you'll use market knowledge, sourcing expertise, and creative attraction methods to secure the best talent available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle across multiple business areas
  • Develop and maintain talent pipelines to support current and future hiring requirements
  • Conduct proactive sourcing, headhunting, and candidate engagement activities
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and provide recruitment guidance
  • Design and deliver attraction campaigns to enhance candidate engagement
  • Utilise recruitment data, market insights, and industry trends to support hiring decisions
  • Ensure a positive and professional candidate experience from initial contact through to onboarding

About You

You'll be an enthusiastic and relationship-focused recruiter with the ability to engage both active and passive talent. Comfortable working in a dynamic environment, you'll be highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Requirements

  • Previous experience delivering end-to-end recruitment within an in-house, agency, or RPO environment
  • Strong sourcing, direct search, and headhunting experience
  • Proven ability to identify, engage, and nurture passive candidates
  • Experience managing multiple vacancies simultaneously
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to develop recruitment plans aligned with business objectives
  • Confidence using recruitment metrics and market intelligence to improve hiring outcomes
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a passion for recruitment

Desirable

  • Experience recruiting for specialist, niche, or hard-to-fill positions
  • Experience working within a fast-paced or growth-focused organisation

What's on Offer

  • Competitive salary of up to £40,000 per annum
  • Opportunity to influence recruitment strategy and hiring outcomes
  • Exposure to a broad range of vacancies and stakeholders
  • A varied and rewarding role within a supportive team environment
