The Role

You will be expected to:

• Plan and deliver engaging KS1 lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Use varied teaching strategies to meet different learning styles and abilities.
• Deliver effective phonics teaching (e.g. Read Write Inc. or equivalent).
• Assess, track, and use pupil progress data to inform planning and intervention.
• Support pupils with SEND and EAL needs through targeted provision.
• Establish strong behaviour expectations and maintain a positive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, phase leaders, and senior staff.
• Build positive relationships with parents and carers.
• Contribute to enrichment activities and wider school life.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a reflective and committed practitioner who is passionate about KS1 education.

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is working towards it (ECTs and PGCE students welcome).
• Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and early child development.
• Confident delivering phonics, literacy, and numeracy.
• Effective classroom management and high expectations for all pupils.
• Organised, proactive, and adaptable to pupil needs.
• A team player with a willingness to learn and develop.
• Energetic, positive, and committed to supporting young learners.
