The Role
You will be expected to:
- Plan and deliver engaging KS1 lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Use varied teaching strategies to meet different learning styles and abilities.
- Deliver effective phonics teaching (e.g. Read Write Inc. or equivalent).
- Assess, track, and use pupil progress data to inform planning and intervention.
- Support pupils with SEND and EAL needs through targeted provision.
- Establish strong behaviour expectations and maintain a positive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, phase leaders, and senior staff.
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers.
- Contribute to enrichment activities and wider school life.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a reflective and committed practitioner who is passionate about KS1 education.
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is working towards it (ECTs and PGCE students welcome).
- Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and early child development.
- Confident delivering phonics, literacy, and numeracy.
- Effective classroom management and high expectations for all pupils.
- Organised, proactive, and adaptable to pupil needs.
- A team player with a willingness to learn and develop.
- Energetic, positive, and committed to supporting young learners.
