We’re working with a leading construction contractor who deliver major, high-value projects across the North West, consistently delivering schemes up to £500m spanning complex infrastructure, large commercial builds and significant urban redevelopment.

They are now looking for a Logistics Manager to join their team on either a freelance or permanent basis, depending on your preference.

The Role – Logistics Manager

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Logistics Manager to support a major mixed-use construction project. You will be responsible for coordinating all site logistics, ensuring smooth, safe and efficient operations that allow construction teams to deliver to programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and manage all site logistics, including delivery, storage and movement of materials and equipment.
  • Work closely with project teams, subcontractors and suppliers to maintain safe and efficient operations.
  • Develop and implement site logistics plans and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, plant usage and logistics movements.
  • Ensure compliance with all HS&E regulations and maintain a safe site environment.
  • Coordinate deliveries to prevent congestion and maintain clear routes.
  • Oversee waste management processes, including segregation and removal.
  • Manage hoist, crane and plant scheduling.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to confirm delivery times and resolve logistical challenges.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to logistics activities.
  • Lead logistics meetings and track actions.
  • Support logistics-related contract administration.
  • Provide regular progress updates to the project management team.
  • Manage walkways, signage, perimeter checks and weekly fire point inspections.
  • Carry out site inductions and associated paperwork.

Experience / Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of the construction process.
  • Experience managing logistics on major construction sites, ideally residential or mixed-use.
  • Understanding of material handling, waste management and delivery coordination.
  • Ability to support programmes and maintain accurate records.
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental compliance.
  • Organised, adaptable and solutions-focused.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar role (desirable).

Qualifications needed:

  • Relevant qualification in construction, logistics or site management (or equivalent experience).
  • CSCS card essential; SMSTS / SSSTS preferred.
  • Understanding of UK construction regulations and CDM requirements.
