We are seeking a dedicated, patient, and passionate Maths Teacher to join a newly established SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) secondary school in Manchester, opening in September 2026.

About You :

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Have experience teaching Maths at secondary level.
  • Have experience teaching within an SEMH school.
  • Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills and emotional resilience.
  • Be patient, empathetic, & passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.
  • Be adaptable and creative in your teaching approach.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be committed to inclusive education and helping every student succeed.

The Role

As a Maths Teacher in an SEMH setting, you will play a crucial role in helping students overcome barriers to learning. You will deliver engaging, accessible lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, adapting teaching to meet a wide range of abilities and needs.

You will support students in developing confidence and skills in Maths while fostering a positive and structured classroom environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering differentiated and engaging Maths lessons.
  • Supporting students with SEMH needs to build confidence and re-engage with learning.
  • Creating a calm, structured, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Using a patient and flexible approach to behaviour management.
  • Monitoring student progress and implementing targeted interventions.
  • Working closely with pastoral teams and external professionals to support student development.
  • Contributing to curriculum development and the wider school ethos.
