Production Multi-Skilled Operative - Food Manufacturing

We are currently recruiting for a Production Multi-Skilled Operative to join a successful food manufacturing company based in Newmarket (CB8). This is a permanent, full-time opportunity offering stability, training, and the opportunity to develop your skills within a busy and fast-paced production environment.

This role is ideal for individuals who are reliable, hardworking, and enjoy a varied workload. As a Multi-Skilled Operative, you will work across different areas of the production process, supporting the manufacture of high-quality food products while maintaining excellent standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

The Role

Working as part of a dedicated production team, you will undertake a variety of tasks including machine operation, product handling, packing, quality inspections, and maintaining production standards. Flexibility and a willingness to learn are essential, as you will be trained to work across multiple production areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating production machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Carrying out quality checks to ensure products meet company specifications.
  • Packing and labelling products accurately.
  • Supporting production lines to achieve daily production targets.
  • Assisting with machine set-up and changeovers where required.
  • Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards within the production area.
  • Following food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures at all times.
  • Supporting stock movements and replenishment activities.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and team leaders to ensure smooth operations.
  • Identifying and reporting any production or quality issues promptly.

Requirements

  • Previous experience within a food manufacturing or production environment is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and work across different departments.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Awareness of food safety and hygiene standards would be advantageous.
